Sunoco #0431545300

Station Information:

Official Name: Sunoco
Address: 2501 Orange Ave, Fort Pierce, FL 34947
Station Decor: Modern Plastic (Current Design)

Hello again! I, Mr. Rejoice Retail, have decided to post about a gas station today. We’ll be looking at a Sunoco in Fort Pierce, FL. I find this station interesting for one specific reason. The reason is… well, I’ll tell you in a minute.

Here’s the exterior canopy.
The road sign.

This sign shows what I think is interesting about this station. While most gas stations sell all three standard grades (In Florida they are 87, 89, and 93 with the exception of Murphy USA, which sells 92-octane premium), this station also sells E-85 (51 to 85% ethanol) and rec-90 (90-octane 0% ethanol). While it isn’t uncommon to find a station selling just one of those in Florida, finding both kinds at the same station is pretty rare. What this station didn’t sell was diesel, which is the “Missing One” in the title. The prices are slightly high for the area; BP and Amoco seem to be the cheapest brands in Fort Pierce, at about ten cents lower for regular.

One of the standard gas pumps.
The rec-90 pump.

I’m not sure what the “not for highway use” lettering on this pump is for, as you can put
rec-90 in cars with no problems (it actually gets about 4% better mpg) and it is legal.

The E-85 pump. It appears E-85 here is 104 octane.
The convenience store.
A large selection of chips.
Here’s a better view of the same area.
Some “fancy” gold-rimmed cooler doors.
Look at those strange cabinets! They seem like they could have come right out of a Low Low Harveys.
The front area.
This is the last photo I took, as I was leaving the C-store.

And, of course, aerial photos. This time they’re from Bing Maps.

Here’s the station and the area surrounding it. I circled the station in red.
And here’s just the station.

This Sunoco is an interesting station, and I’m happy I visited it. There is one other station in this area which I plan to do a post on sometime in the future which sells all of the fuel kinds that this station sells, as well as diesel, making it a true all-in-one gas station. I’m not going to reveal the brand name but keep an eye out for that post. My next post is going to be about a well-known chevron-floored Publix that’s closing soon.

That’s it for today’s adventure, and I hope to see you back on RR soon.

As always,
Mr. Rejoice Retail

  1. I know this place! It does have a really great selection… but as you pointed out… usually a little more $$$.

Where is the best priced gas in Fort Pierce? I usually try to get some BP.

    1. Usually, it’s any BP or Amoco. BP operates seven stations in Fort Pierce. One of them is at 701 Delaware Ave. There is also a Chevron with very slow pumps that’s very cheap on the corner of Delaware and US 1.

  2. That truly is an odd station with all those gas choices. Nice color scheme, though.

I prefer top-tier gas for my car and look for best prices. With the Earnify App, I can get $.15/ off per gallon every day for Top Tier Plus BP or Amoco gas by linking my bank account. I can also redeem points for additional savings. Last week I got a tankful of BP Top Tier Plus gas with a $.25/gallon discount. Sweet!

    1. Although Sunoco is not certified Top Tier Plus, their gas is still decent and is certified Standard Top Tier. However, if Sunoco does not strengthen their additive, they will have to drop out of Top Tier, as Top Tier requires all certified brands to switch to Top Tier Plus by January 2027. As of right now, BP, Amoco, and Costco are better than any other brands of gas because they have Top Tier Plus certification.
