Closing Decor: Green Interior
Hello again! I’m back a week early to get this very special post out. The closure of the store in this post marked the end of the Green Interior decor package in operating Winn-Dixie stores. When this store closed, the Green Interior became extinct. The extinction of the Green Interior wasn’t a surprise to many, as Winn-Dixie never installed it in many stores because it was only used from 2014-2015. There was also a version of this decor package that was all gray and was installed in only one store. You can read AFB‘s post on that store here. I visited W-D #333 twice: the first time was March 21, 2026, and the second time was April 18, 2026, the day before this store closed. We’ll be seeing photos from both trips today. Now, let’s explore the last-ever Green Interior store.

And… no rose and teal flooring to be seen. Yes! It looks like W-D actually put some money into this store. I’m not sure if this store had Marketplace or the decor before it.

Now that we’ve seen the March photos, let’s take a look at the photos from the day before this store closed. Most of the store was roped off with caution tape, so all of these pictures are from the front of the store.

By the way, where did all of the Chek go?

That’s all the pictures I took of the store, so we’ll move on to aerial photos now.

The Winn-Dixie is the big building at the bottom of the image.

This store was the first and last time I ever saw the Green Interior in person, since I’m a Publix fan and don’t go to Winn-Dixie much. Also, Aldi closed all of the Winn-Dixies near me. However, I like Winn-Dixie because they tend to hold on to decor packages for longer. A variant of Winn-Dixie’s 1990s Marketplace decor still exists today. Publix’s last store with their 1990s Wavy Pastel package closed around 2011 (possibly 2014.)
This store was definitely nicer than most Winn-Dixies I’ve been to, and I wish it could have stayed open. It wasn’t even an Aldi victim. The story was that the landlord raised the rent too high and almost every store in Gardens Park Plaza would be closing. I believe the store is still up for lease.
While you’re waiting for a new story, please read A Forgotten Publix.
I’ll see you in the next post.
Mr. Rejoice Retail

When an extensive post of the extinct WD at two points in time. The 98% off card selection was hilarious!
Yes, it was! Thanks for reading my moderately long post.
I’ve been to this store 3 times, once in 2019, and then in 2024 and 2025. During my 2019 visit I thought this store was pretty nice. The remodel was still about 5 years old at the time, but the decor looked good, the fresh departments were well stocked, and basic maintenance was being done. Skipping ahead to 2024 (and especially 2025), I was quite disappointed with this store. During my last visit, everything was falling apart. Cooler doors were being held on with packaging tape, the floors looked rough, and the store seemed on the dirtier side. A lot of the fancier fresh features this store got during the original Green Interior remodel were also removed by that time too, which didn’t help. I was hoping this store would be in line for a remodel with how it looked, but it appears the landlord had other ideas. It’s a shame too, as this was the last Winn-Dixie in the northern part of Palm Beach County, and with #309 destined to convert eventually, that’s another big void without a WD (as I doubt many will go to Royal Palm Beach or Lantana just to shop at WD). It’s was a shame to see this store slip so much and then close outright, as this seems to have been a good store for WD at one time. Hopefully WD can build up a presence once again in Northern Palm Beach County.
From the looks of things, this store would have had Post-Bankruptcy prior to the Green Interior, and Marketplace before that. The building was almost doubled in size during the Marketplace remodel.
Yeah, it seems like some stores are desperate to get rid of greeting cards at closing sales, no matter the cost!
#309’s Bilingual Post-Bankruptcy interior is looking pretty rough. I was there in January, and the store seemed as if it hadn’t been remodeled for 30-40 years, even though it was remodeled around 2009-2010. #309 definitely shows how Post-Bankruptcy does not hold up well. I have photographs of #309 and will post them eventually. The interior of #333 was actually about fifteen times nicer than #309’s interior. I am going to try to visit #309 again (and Publix #50) sometime soon to see how things are going there, but if anything has happened, it’s probably worsened the condition of the store, not made it better.
I think I remember the final cost of the greeting cards at about fifteen cents each.
Thanks for commenting on my post! I hope to see you again on Rejoice Retail soon (I still can’t believe the AFB is commenting on my website).
Another Winn-Dumpy bites the dusty. Although, you’re right. This one looks better than most!
98% off is a steal!
